Bones Bearings & Bushings

Bones bearings revolutionized skateboard performance when George Powell introduced Swiss-manufactured precision bearings to skateboarding in 1983, transforming how wheels rolled and establishing the performance standard that every subsequent bearing would be measured against. Powell's aerospace engineering background led him to recognize that skateboard bearings required precision manufacturing to withstand the unique punishment of skating applications. Bones Swiss gained legendary status through association with the Powell Peralta team, including riders like Tony Hawk and Rodney Mullen, whose video parts demonstrated how superior bearings enhanced every aspect of performance. The company expanded their precision manufacturing to include Bones Reds, providing exceptional quality at accessible prices while maintaining the engineering standards that made Swiss bearings legendary. Bones' influence extends beyond bearings to precision bushings that fine-tune truck performance, creating a comprehensive approach to skateboard engineering.
