Real Skateboards
Real Skateboards Decks & Apparel
Real Skateboards began in 1991 when Tommy Guerrero and Jim Thiebaud left Powell Skateboards to create their own path, with crucial support from skateboarding entrepreneur Fausto Vitello. Drawing from their Powell experience but determined to do things differently, they assembled an initial team including Henry Sanchez, Sluggo, Max Schaaf, and Kelly Bird who helped define Real's authentic approach to skateboarding.
What sets Real apart after three decades isn't just longevity or quality products, but their commitment to using skateboarding as a force for positive change. The company regularly releases special products and initiatives to support causes ranging from cancer research to DIY skate spot construction. This socially conscious approach reflects the founders' belief that skateboard companies should give back to the communities that support them.
Real continues producing high-quality decks and apparel while maintaining their founding principles of rider ownership and community involvement. Their graphics and products reflect both skateboarding heritage and contemporary relevance, proving that success in skateboarding comes from staying connected to what matters: the skaters, the culture, and the communities that make it all possible.
